ABOUT US Illinois Dance Conservatory (IDC) was founded in 2010, by Louis Dixon and Alyce Keaggy Brinkmann offering premier instruction in classical, contemporary, and character ballet with the vision to inspire, develop, and sustain a love of dance in every student. In 2016, Sasha Kozadayev was brought on as Co-Artistic Director providing a collaborative and dynamic approach to IDC’s dance education. Combined with the expertise of its faculty and connection to Illinois Youth Dance Theatre (IYDT), a “world-class pre-professional ballet company,” Illinois Dance Conservatory has become an exclusive representation among dance organizations in the north-west suburbs.
IDC’s facility includes four state of the art studios located in Wauconda, Illinois. We welcome you to stop by and meet our friendly staff. Using the Vaganova method to provide proper technique for the ballet program, classes emphasize precise technique, safety and strength. IDC cultivates elegance, expressiveness, and musicality as students grow through the opportunities of the school, including three different divisions: Children’s, Youth, and Pre-Professional.
IDC strives to create versatile dancers by being dedicated to providing the finest in dance instruction allowing students to develop the skills necessary for the Professional dance world. Our goal is to educate students of all levels that ballet is equal parts art and athleticism, inspiring students to approach all of life with grace and confidence.
MISSION Illinois Dance Conservatory strives to create versatile dancers through equal parts art and athleticism by emphasizing technique, self expression, and musicality.
