Chie Fujita

Ballet

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Chie trained in classical ballet at Noriko Kobayashi Ballet Academy, Tokyo, under the direction of Koh Kobayashi and Noriko Kobayashi. She passed the examination of advanced level of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), one of the world’s most influential dance education organizations, and participated in RAD International Summer School in London, studying under Eileen Ward and Eugenio Valukin.

Chie joined Noriko Kobayashi Ballet Theatre where she danced professionally in various performances including Coppelia by Brenda Last, Ondine, Daphnis and Chloe, Cinderella by Alfred Rodorigues, Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, La Bayadere, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, and Don Quixote.

 

In 2002 Chie obtained a RAD teaching certificate and became a qualified RAD registered teacher.  She has taught at several different ballet schools, including Joffrey Academy of Dance and Illinois Dance Conservatory.
