For over 35 years Alyce Brinkmann, the Owner and Artistic Director of Illinois Dance Conservatory (IDC) has provided premier dance training to students in the Chicago’s Northwest suburbs, striving to inspire, develop, and sustain a love of dance in every student. Alyce is also the founder of Illinois Youth Dance Theatre (IYDT), a non-profit, world-class, pre-professional youth ballet company that was established in 2000. Our next production will be The Nutcracker in December 2023.
IDC's main studio is located in Wauconda and we are proud to provide dance classes for students from Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs, including Arlington Heights, Barrington, Cary, Crystal Lake, Deer Park, Fox River Grove, Grayslake, Hawthorn Woods, Island Lake, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, McHenry, Palatine, Round Lake, Schaumburg, Spring Grove, Vernon Hills, Volo, and other surrounding towns.
We currently offer classes in ballet, contemporary, and jazz, and accept students of all levels, from beginner to pre-professional, ages 3 to adult.

​Whether a student is new to dance or has prior experience and is looking to take their dance training to the next level, IDC has a program to meet their needs. We offer classes for children, teens, and adults and give you the ability to sign up for full programs by Level or select classes a la carte to create a program that best meets the student's needs.
